The Windows II

Printmaking class assignment
Unique print 2/6
Theme: Final Project, any theme desired, at least two print making methods learned in class must be used


paper: Cream Stonehenge
I choose 6 photographs I have taken, all of the same building (my "creepy house" ) and I double xerox transferred them on dry paper, hand pressed w/wooden spoon using wintergreen oil after the oil was coated on back of xerox copy facing the art paper.
Then I soaked the papers and choose to do an abstract design of vines with intaglio on plexiglass using a mixture of colored inks to create a lime-ish green.
Lastly, on have the prints are parts of a poem by Constantine P Cavafy entitled "The Windows". Words were printed letter by letter with miniature stamps (I got a set of lower case and upper case letters at Micheal's for a dollar each, it was very exciting! They came in all sorts of fonts) and inked with intaglio ink mixed to a darker green.

When I scanned them, they were just a little larger than my scanner so sadly they are cropped a little to much and I also left the top and bottom of the torn paper showing because I like how it looks
