Pinhole Camera Photos

these pictures were really fun to take, during the beginning of my photography class we had to make our own pinhole camera out of a shoebox

we had to paint it completely black on the inside and cut out squares on both sides of the shoebox
we put screens in the center using a tough tissue paper and foam core to keep it standing up in the box (you had to make the screen the exact width and height of the box for it to work), for the actual pictures we had to cover up the one side of the box permanently and put a flap on the other side to tape down
on the side of the box with the flap we put black card stock (which had to have a hole punched in the center first) and aluminum foil on the inside, between the two layers of cardboard that makes of up the box and then we took needles and made a small hole in the aluminum foil where the punched whole in the black paper was

and that's about all you need to do, there's exact dimensions for some things but you don't really need to follow them, all that's left was to go into the darkroom and mount a piece of photo paper on our screen
we went outside with them and before you develop the prints you just had to open the flap and let the image of whatever you where trying to take a picture of through the pinhole onto the photo paper and tah dah!
